We had a great night anchored in Cat Cay. We pulled anchor and motored into the wind towards Northwest Channel. We had a current against us and did not make very good speed. The seas got rougher as the day went on. We went off the recommended route to look for some shallower water. It was still rocky. We had to sleep in the main salon.

The next day we had a difficult time pulling the anchor with all the winds and waves. We motored against wind current and waves. We anchored in Bird Cay, which was protected from the winds and waves.

On Saturday we pulled the anchor at 6:00am and headed to Nassau. The seas were better than expected. We got a slip at Nassau Yacht Haven marina and checked-in with customs and immigration.

We stayed another night in Nassau and took a taxi to the “fish fry” where we ate conch, grouper and shrimp. Then we got a fresh conch salad to go. We got to watch him take the conch out of the shell and make the salad.

On Monday we got fuel and headed to Highborne Cay. It was supposed to be a nice sailing day, but we ran into a couple of squalls winds 30+ knots.

We anchored in Highborne Cay at 5:30pm. We watched a great sunset, followed by a great moon rise.
