GPX Tool Help
GPX, or GPS Exchange, files are used to import and export GPS user data
between tools and devices. This tool reads a GPX file and converts it
to a CSV, or Comma Separated Value, file which can be read by a
spreadsheet program. In the future, this app will also allow you to
clean up a GPX file.
Start at the top of the screen and work your way down. Unavailable
options are greyed-out.
The GPX Tool performs two functions—creating a CSV from a GPX
file and cleaning up a route in a GPX file.

Cleaning a Route
There are up to three functions performed
by clean route; Reordering waypoints, cleaning waypoint symbol names,
and hiding waypoint names. There are two levels of cleaning—
Clean All
cleans all waypoints, but the default is to clean only automatic
waypoints, and leave waypoints like anchorages alone.
After uploading a GPX file, the Clean Route button will be
enabled if there is a route. Do the following to clean routes in the
uploaded file:
- Click Show Options to set Clean options.
- Click Hide Options to save and continue.
- Change the value of Start Num to the starting number when
reordering waypoints.
- Click Clean Route to clean the uploaded route. The
cleaned GPX
file is displayed in a separate pane.
- Click Download GPX to download the GPX file. The
characters "_cln" are added to the file name to indicate that the route
is cleaned. The route name is unchanged.
- Click Download CSV to download the cleaned CVS file.
- Click Clear to restart.
Clean Route Options
